INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE

SPRAY-AWAY™
(Cold water spray down unit with hose storage)

Thank you for choosing the Spray-Away; the easy-to-use, self-storing, indispensable camping tool! By following these simple installation and maintenance procedures, your Spray-Away will give you years of service and convenience.

1. INSTALLATION

A. The unit installs into a 5 ˝” square hole and extends approximately 13” into the vehicle (allowing for the plumbing hook-up).

B. It is recommended the hinged side of the hatch door be towards the front of the vehicle. If the hatch is left open accidentally when the vehicle is moving, the wind will blow the hatch door closed and will not damage the hatch.

C. A sealant should be applied around the frame of the hatch, in the area of the screw holes, before installation. Do not use so much sealant that it warps the hatch door frame.

D. Screws should be installed in all the screw holes and then tightened in a random manner (not in a clockwise manner) to ensure the hatch is not distorted.

E. Screws must not be over tightened!

F. A block or a support strap should support the rear of the Spray-A-Way.

G. An in-line shutoff valve should be installed between the vehicle water supply and the Spray-A-Way inlet check valve on the rear of the unit to facilitate drainage.

2. MAINTENANCE

A. Your Spray-A-Way should be drained for transport or if freezing weather is expected. To drain simply turn off the inline water supply valves, remove the sprayer nozzle from the coil hose and insert the hose into the brass quick connect. This will release the quick connect valve stopper. Hold the open end of the hose near the ground and drain the system.

B. If the brass quick release valve leaks or drips, it is likely a small particle of dirt or plastic is caught in the check valve mechanism. Simply remove the sprayer from the end of the coil hose then connect and disconnect the hose a few times. This will flush the line and clear the valve.

C. If it becomes difficult to insert or remove the coil hose from the quick connector over time, the connector needs to be lubricated. Simply apply Vaseline or similar non-toxic lubricant to the hose insert and work it in and out. Repeat periodically.

D. Replacement parts and Spray-A-Way units are available online at dwincorp.com.

NOTICE: The Spray-Away, Spray-Port and Hot/Cold Spray- Port coil hoses are intended for interim use outside of the RV. Disconnect any hoses from the quick connector when not in use. D&W Inc. is not responsible for damage occurring if hoses are left connected and unattended.
